Our operations
Our department includes cardiology, clinical physiology, and thoracic surgery. Cardiac care within our department is provided on two wards; inpatient care on 50G and day care on 50F. There is a lot of development and research within the department that is exciting to be part of.
On ward 50G, we care for, treat, examine, and investigate acutely ill heart patients around the clock. Patients arrive with conditions such as heart attack, heart rhythm disturbances, and heart failure, requiring immediate attention. We also have our day care on 50F with planned procedures for heart patients.
Your assignment
As a future nurse with us, you are part of our wonderful team. As a new nurse, you will receive individualized orientation for six weeks, as well as training days including basic life support (A-HLR) and theoretical education on relevant topics related to cardiac care. We have experienced nurses who provide clinical supervision to new employees. Further education is important to us, and there is a well-developed introduction program with teaching.
You will work in a team with assistant nurses and be responsible for heart patients in your care team. Our patients are often in need of cardiac monitoring. We have two care teams with a higher level of care where patients can be monitored with arterial lines, receive advanced medical treatment such as vasopressors, and treatment with NIV (Non-invasive ventilation).
Your qualifications
We are looking for you who are a nursing student starting term 6.
Your skills
We are looking for you who are interested in cardiac care and want to start working on ward 50G after completing your degree. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, such as being responsible and motivated in your work. You have a flexible and curious approach and good teamwork skills. You enjoy a fast-paced and varied tempo. No prior experience with ECG interpretation is required before starting with us.
We offer
We offer you a permanent position as a nursing assistant. Upon submission of your license, the employment will be converted to a permanent position as a nurse. Your new position will, unless otherwise agreed, involve full-time work with duty requirements for all hours of the day, so-called rotational duty. You commit to working with us for 12 months after completing your degree. There is an opportunity to work as an assistant nurse or nursing assistant during your studies, but this is not a requirement.
With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/ (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/)).

Region Uppsala values the qualities that equal gender distribution and diversity bring to the operations and welcomes applicants of all genders and with different backgrounds, abilities, and life experiences.
Region Uppsala mobilizes all permanently employed personnel based on the needs of the total defense. This means no obligations for the individual employee in peacetime but is solely a planning measure.
Before a decision on employment, checks of suspicion and criminal records are conducted for all job seekers who, in the sought position, may come to work within psychiatric care, habilitation, care of children and youth, or compulsory care for addicts, areas covered by optional record extracts. This thus applies to all who will work close to patients, even if the tasks at present are not intended to primarily involve work with the above-mentioned patient groups.
This recruitment is conducted entirely through Region Uppsala, and we decline phone calls from recruitment agencies and advertising sales.
