Do you want to complete your specialist training in an engaged team where collaboration, supervision, and job satisfaction are the focus?

Your Workplace

Skoghall Health Centre is Värmland's third largest health centre with around 50 dedicated employees. We are located in a beautiful natural setting in the archipelago municipality of Hammarö – with Lake Vänern and Lillängshamn just a few minutes away.

Here you will meet a well-functioning team with broad competence: district doctors, specialist trainees (ST), newly graduated doctors (AT), and junior doctors (BT), nurses with specialist competence, psychologists, social workers, pharmacists, assistant nurses, and healthcare administrators. We work closely together in teams and have a strong collaboration with Hammarö Municipality, especially regarding our most vulnerable elderly.

We are a secure medical group with 9 district doctors and 6 specialist trainees. At the health centre, we welcome students from several professional categories and offer good opportunities for research – currently, two of our doctors are researching part-time.

Following our latest SPUR review, we received very good ratings for our specialist training. We value continuous professional development and hold regular doctor forums where we share knowledge and develop together. By 2027, several of our specialist trainees will qualify as district doctors, which is why we are now looking for more specialist trainees who want to become part of our team.

Your Responsibilities

As a specialist trainee with us, you will have a dedicated district doctor colleague who supervises you through your training. Your individual training plan is developed in collaboration with your supervisor, study director, and unit manager, and is followed up continuously to ensure your development.

You participate in regular meetings with the study director, focusing on competence development, reflection, and experience sharing. In your daily work, you have good access to collegial support and the opportunity to ask questions continuously, both informally and during our weekly doctor meetings.

You will work with scheduled visits as well as acute interventions. We operate with a shared day-on-call duty where we help each other to create a sustainable work environment, good workload distribution, and high patient safety. You will become part of an engaged team where we prioritize, plan, and take responsibility for patient care together.

Your Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician. Experience working at a health centre is considered an advantage.

As a person, you have good self-awareness and the ability to take responsibility for both your work and your own development. You work independently and proactively, planning and driving your work forward with good judgment, and knowing when it is appropriate to seek support.

You have good collaboration skills and thrive working in teams with different professions, contributing to a respectful and solution-oriented work climate. Furthermore, you easily create and maintain trusting relationships with patients, relatives, and colleagues through an attentive, professional, and clear approach.
