Kättilsröds 4H Farm is looking for an Operations Manager
Workplace:
Kättilsröds 4H Farm is a well-established farm with visitor activities located in Tuve, near Hisingsparken. The farm houses cows, sheep, goats, horses, chickens, ducks, pigs, and rabbits. The farm runs a comprehensive and highly appreciated children's and youth program. During all school holidays, various types of camp activities are offered. In the evenings, there is riding school, and on weekends, there is open activities for children and youth. The farm is a very popular excursion destination for families with children, schools, associations, and outdoor enthusiasts.
In your role as Operations Manager (Farm Manager), you will be responsible for:
The operations in the form of the daily running of the farm. This means that the animals must be cared for according to the County Administrative Board's guidelines and other animal welfare laws. You will inform staff about changes in work procedures and ensure that the work on the farm is carried out in an exemplary manner as decided by the board.
Economic responsibility to the board. Manage contact and reporting to the treasurer, auditor, and board. Ensure that staff salary reports are submitted on time to the payroll office.
Attend board meetings and inform about developments at the farm.
Lead the daily operations conducted at the farm.
Attend meetings with the Västra Götaland Region of 4H.
Staff meetings: Ensure that meetings are held every week.
Maintain contact with Sports and Associations, Parks and Nature, the Swedish Equestrian Federation, the Environmental Office, the National Association of Sweden's 4H, the Västra Götaland Region of 4H, and other important contacts for the farm.
Responsible for tractors, trailers, and other motorized equipment on the farm.
Requirements:
- Animal experience (preferably horses, sheep, goats)
- At least 10 years of riding experience
- Experience working with children and youth
- Ability to handle physical outdoor work
- Computer/IT skills
- Proficiency in the Office package
- Category B driver's license
Merits:
- Education in or experience with administration in associations, boards, or similar
- Education in or experience working in stables or on other farms
- Education in or experience working with children and youth
- Owned a horse or similar
Together with the board, the Farm Manager will drive the farm's operations. The Farm Manager should be a role model for staff, children, and youth. Visitors to the farm should be greeted warmly. The farm is a living environment that should be planned and shaped according to the development of the activities. You will need to juggle many balls at the same time. This requires you to be creative and have the knowledge and ambition to continuously develop the farm for the better. Ideas and implementation should be planned with the board.
You should enjoy interacting with all kinds of people, be able to lead staff and children/youth, share your knowledge, and develop through changes. You also need to be able to identify necessary renovations on the farm and be somewhat handy.
Some office work is included in the position.
Knowledge of 4H is a plus.
