At Fortum, you contribute to a cleaner world and a fossil-free future by working on the development of hydropower, a cornerstone of the Nordic energy system. We offer a role with great freedom and opportunities for development.
About the role
As a Service Technician, you play a key role in ensuring high availability and operational safety at Fortum's hydropower facilities. The role involves varied tasks, performed both independently and in teams, as well as on-call duties. You work with operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, covering both planned maintenance and emergency measures in a safety-critical environment.
What we offer
Fortum offers you a great community within a tight-knit technical team, significant freedom, and good opportunities for professional development. For those with ambition and curiosity, you can broaden your skills in areas such as programming.
Responsibilities
- Perform operation and maintenance of hydropower facilities
- Car out corrective actions and repairs
- Participate in improvement and investment projects
- Work independently and in teams with colleagues and external partners
- Handle electrical work up to 400 volts
- Contribute to the annual review of facilities
We are looking for someone who has:
- Basic knowledge of electrical installation or industrial electricity
- Completed upper secondary education in electricity, automation, hydraulics, or mechanics
- Good knowledge of low-voltage systems (up to 400V)
- Valid driver's license (Category B)
- Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience from an industrial environment as an industrial electrician
- Good knowledge of programming, PLC/HMI systems, and systematic troubleshooting
- Experience with frequency converters, mechanical maintenance, or hydraulics
- Previous experience from hydropower
To succeed in this role, you have the following personal qualities:
- Intellectually curious: You want to understand the root cause of faults, not just fix them. You are driven by learning new systems within electricity, automation, and hydraulics.
- Helpful: You are a team player without ego, noticing when a colleague needs support and gladly sharing your expertise for the team's success.
- Organized: You work systematically with a focus on safety. You keep your tools in order and document your efforts carefully.
- Responsible: You take ownership of your tasks from start to finish. You make wise decisions and enjoy the freedom to plan your own workday.
- Goal-oriented: You do not give up until the problem is solved. You are focused and motivated by seeing concrete results in operations.
