Job Description

Are you a driven and experienced buyer who wants to contribute to exciting projects within the defense industry? We are currently looking for buyers with experience in operational, tactical, or strategic purchasing for upcoming assignments with our client in Gothenburg.

At our client's site, you will work in a technologically advanced environment where purchasing plays a crucial role in projects, production, and delivery. Here, you will contribute to important projects, build strong supplier relationships, and develop solutions that make a difference.

The role may vary depending on the specific assignment, but a common thread is that you, as a buyer, play a vital role in creating efficient purchasing processes, strong supplier relationships, and stable delivery flows.

Depending on the nature of the role, both tasks and areas of responsibility may vary.

Common tasks may include:

  • Responsibility for a number of suppliers, including managing relationships and supplier development.
  • Support to projects and programs throughout the entire purchasing process.
  • Prepare inquiries, evaluate quotations, conduct negotiations, and issue purchase orders.
  • Negotiate, actively manage, and further develop supplier agreements.
  • Develop and manage the supplier base based on business needs.
  • Work with pricing, delivery terms, contracts, and other commercial issues.
  • Ensure that purchasing strategy, purchasing policy, and procedures are followed and adhered to.
  • Follow up on deliveries and handle deviations in the delivery flow, both internally and externally.
  • Identify improvement and efficiency opportunities within the purchasing area.
  • Collaborate closely with internal functions such as project management, production, engineering, quality, and finance.

  • Other information: The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the current security clearance regulations. For positions where our client requires security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.

To succeed in this role, you need

  • You have a university or vocational education in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, logistics, economics, engineering, or a similar field.
  • You have a few years of experience in operational, tactical, or strategic purchasing.
  • You preferably have experience from production, manufacturing industry, engineering companies, or other complex operations.
  • You have a good understanding of purchasing processes, supplier follow-up, and material flows.
  • You have experience working in ERP or MRP systems, preferably IFS.
  • Depending on the role, experience in negotiation, contract work, and supplier development may be meritorious.
  • You are fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • You are fluent in English, both spoken and written.
