Job Description
SiS Youth Home Johannisberg is a high-security institution beautifully located next to the Kalix River, adjacent to the quiet residential area of Grytnäs. The institution is in a phase of development and expansion, with ongoing work to increase staffing and security. Our target group in Kalix consists of boys aged 16–21 placed under the Act on Closed Youth Care and the Act for Care of Young People. All work is guided by our core values: Respect, Care, and Clarity.
As a new employee, you will be offered a thorough introduction and supervision with an experienced colleague, basic training, and competence development in areas such as security, preventing unauthorized influence, conflict management, CPR, and more.
As a Treatment Assistant, you work in a team on the ward together with competent colleagues who are looking forward to you joining the team. Your daily work involves building safe relationships and motivating our young people towards new and less risky ways of living. You play a vital role in the stability of our young people and provide the foundation for daily life, including school attendance, activities, cooking, and cleaning. As a Treatment Assistant, you also contribute to maintaining security at the institution according to our guidelines and routines.
Working hours are scheduled according to a rotating shift pattern including days, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has the ability to build trusting relationships with our young people. You have a positive view of humanity, and your driving force is to work with young people. As a person, you relate to others in a listening and flexible manner, while also being able to set boundaries and follow through on decisions. You are secure, stable, and capable of maintaining a professional attitude even in pressured situations. You work well with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You must also have:
- A post-secondary education of at least 2 years from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH), or equivalent education. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant field.*
- Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
- Good physical fitness
*Exceptions to the requirement of at least two years of post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468). A high school diploma and relevant work experience are required for an exception to be granted. Please attach your high school transcript and/or certificate of post-secondary education to your application. High school transcripts/certificates issued in another country must be translated and validated in Sweden via the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR).
Merits:
- Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, for example within prison services, psychiatry, care and support, or equivalent
- Category B driver's license
Employment
The positions are permanent full-time employment and begin with a 6-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
