About this vacancy
Are you an engaged teacher who loves teaching and would thrive in an international environment? At IES Halmstad, we are currently looking for a teacher in German and Mathematics with qualifications to teach grades 6–9. This is a permanent position at 75% starting in August 2026.
The Workplace
IES Halmstad is a popular independent school for students in grades 4–9, with around 600 students and 70 employees. If you are new, there is ample support available at the school, both from your colleagues and from our Academic Manager, who is happy to assist with planning, follow-up, and structure. For established teachers, the school offers an inspiring international environment where structure and order allow you to spend more of your working time on teaching and learning, and minimal time on disciplinary issues – which we consider a key part of a pleasant and positive work environment.
We believe in our method, the IES Ethos, which focuses clearly on mastering the English language, study discipline, safety, and respect to build a positive school environment that is enabling and inclusive – and that yields good academic results. You agree with us that a teacher should focus on teaching and developing their profession together with others, while other areas are supported by strong structures ranging from student health services and janitorial services to IT support and collegial collaboration. We follow the Swedish national curriculum with instruction in both Swedish and English.
The Position
We are looking for a certified teacher who will become part of a creative and experienced team, responsible for your own lesson planning. We work closely together in subject teams focusing on subject development and cross-curricular themes.
