We are now looking for a Senior Network Engineer who wants to take overall responsibility for technical solutions in customer, network, and product matters, and who thrives in a flat-hierarchy team where your technical decisions truly matter.

About the role

As a Senior Network Engineer at Teracom, part of our production network team, you will be responsible for developing, designing, and implementing network solutions that support our customers' and our own business needs. You ensure that solutions are developed and implemented, either independently or together with the team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a project-based manner where you both lead and contribute to network design and technical solutions.

You will also:

• Act as solution owner or participant in customer, network, and product development matters
• Create and maintain technical documentation of network architecture, solutions, and procedures
• Analyze existing network solutions and suggest improvements or reconstructions
• Ensure that design solutions meet requirements for security, availability, and cost-effectiveness
• Be responsible for preparing cost estimates, basis for schedules, and disclaimers in connection with quotation work
• Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to drive technical solutions
• Perform troubleshooting and problem-solving at the third-line level as needed
• Contribute to more efficient working methods when developing technical solutions, including by identifying synergies between ongoing and planned matters

At Teracom, you become part of the Production Network unit. The unit is responsible for production- and service-based network environments that are business-critical for Teracom's network deliveries. Teracom's network consists, among other things, of a nationwide MPLS network, and in the role, you work closely with Teracom's NOC, service personnel, as well as colleagues within data center and IT. Some customer contact also occurs.

The role has a broad technology focus and involves work across several technology areas within Teracom's operations.

We are looking for someone who has

• At least 7 years of experience working with network design, operation, and management, from operator networks or similar practical environments
• Good knowledge of Cisco network equipment, including routing (ISIS, OSPF) and switching
• Experience with MPLS (SR-MPLS, LDP, SRv6) as well as L2VPN (EVPN, VPWS, VPLS) and L3VPN (MP-BGP)
• A solid technical understanding of network security as well as IT and information security
• Experience with automation (e.g., Ansible)
• Relevant academic background in computer science, network technology, or equivalent work experience
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

It is also meritorious if you have

• Experience from the telecommunications industry
• Worked with networks that include advanced features (e.g., high availability, redundancy, or segmentation)
• Experience with WiFi and Dot1x (802.1x)
• Certification in CCNA and CCNP
• Experience working with network security and firewall technology
• Background in security-sensitive operations and work in critical environments

Security Requirements

Employment requires a passed drug and alcohol test, background check, and security clearance with register control. The position is security-classified and requires Swedish or Nordic citizenship.
