As an IT Development Manager at BDO, you take long-term responsibility for how IT support is developed within the business area, tax, and advisory. You work closely with the business and drive development issues based on their needs, rather than just receiving finished orders. This means you need to understand how the business works, where time is spent, and where there is potential for efficiency improvements.

The role is not about driving individual projects, but about prioritizing, steering, and following up on development over time. You are responsible for ensuring that the right initiatives are identified, prioritized, and implemented together with development teams and suppliers.

Examples of what you will work with:

• Take ownership of development issues within a business area
• Prioritize between initiatives and set the direction for development over time
• Work closely with the business to identify improvements and efficiencies
• Ensure that solutions work in practice and can be maintained
• Follow up on deliveries from development teams and external suppliers

We are looking for you who have several years of experience working close to the business with systems, development, or administration and who are accustomed to taking overall responsibility. You do not depend on someone else structuring the work for you, but can prioritize, drive issues, and create clarity in an environment where everything is not fully defined. Furthermore, you should be confident in the dialogue with both the business and IT and be able to translate needs into concrete initiatives without losing sight of the big picture.

To succeed in the role, you have:

• 5+ years of experience in system administration, development management, or a similar role
• Experience working close to the business and driving needs-based development
• Ability to prioritize between different initiatives and make decisions
• Experience working with multiple systems and suppliers
• Understanding of the entire lifecycle, from need to operation and further development

Meritorious is post-secondary education in areas such as information systems, computer science, or IT management, as well as experience in service management, ITIL, or consulting.
