WeMind Individual and Family consists of a network of residential care homes (HVB), treatment schools, and open care facilities active within the social services sector. We are in an exciting and expanding phase and are now looking for treatment assistants for our recently opened residential care facility in Upplands Väsby.

Your new workplace

WeMind HVB Väsby is a treatment and assessment home focusing on young people with conflict-ridden family relationships and extensive school absenteeism, operating on behalf of the social services.

We are currently seeking social pedagogues who, in the role of treatment assistants, wish to be involved in the startup of this facility and help shape its content. The unit will consist of two smaller care environments within walking distance of each other and is intended to offer a combination of qualified social interventions and evidence-based psychiatry for young people with mental disabilities and behavioral problems.

Job Description in Brief

  • Treatment assistant positions: day shifts, rotating shifts, and night shifts
  • Work in the daily lives of the placed young people with cooking, activities, support with routines, medical visits, and other housing-related tasks
  • Act as a contact person for 1-2 placed young people and, in that role, participate in the interdisciplinary team (Psychologist, Social Worker, Social Pedagogue) where care is planned and followed up.
  • Document interventions in the facility's system

About You

  • Social Pedagogue/Treatment Pedagogue with a completed two-year post-secondary education (required)
  • Experience working with placed young people (meritorious)
  • Background in HVB/SiS/correctional psychiatry or similar 24-hour care with social service collaboration (meritorious)
  • Knowledge of learning psychology/behavioral analysis (meritorious)

We believe you are a social pedagogue (or equivalent as mentioned above) with experience working with placed young people in residential settings, driven by a commitment to change the lives of children in vulnerable situations. You understand the importance of offering security, patience, and emotional availability when young people need to orient themselves in a new environment and receive support from new adults. We work with families who often have severe communication problems and young people with behavioral issues. It is important that you have an empathetic problem-solving style and accept supervision and support from colleagues and management. The implementation of our interaction strategies is one of the most important parts of the treatment model, and we place great emphasis on supervision, both collegial and with psychologists. If you have experience based on applied behavioral analysis, positive behavior support, LAB, or similar, you will recognize how we want the interaction in the facility to look.

During the construction phase of the facility, it will be highly valued if you have many ideas and the drive to create content when you see a need.

The position requires that you are assessed as suitable, and you must submit extracts from the suspicion and criminal records register as part of this process.
