Our Operations

Psychiatry Ward 3B provides specialist psychiatric inpatient care for patients with affective conditions such as severe depression, bipolar disorders, personality disorders, and severe anxiety conditions.

We belong to the Section for Affective Diseases, which is a specialist psychiatric operation within the Psychiatry Service Area and consists of both inpatient care and several outpatient clinics.

We are located in modern facilities where inpatient care, outpatient care, and emergency psychiatric care are gathered under one roof.

About Us

To ensure the quality of care, we actively work to develop a good and attractive working environment for nurses. This means that we value and protect the nurse's autonomous professional practice, have high nursing competence at all management levels within the organization, and have ongoing research and development work within nursing. We would appreciate it if you had an interest in research and teaching in collaboration with Uppsala University.

Nursing plays a central role in our operations, and we continuously work to develop the role of the specialist nurse. Enabling recovery and health are important parts of nursing work on a psychiatric ward. A clear focus on person-centered care allows individuals' own stories to shape the nursing care.

Together, we create a care plan with current and planned interventions, which are continuously evaluated. The ward has a close and well-functioning collaboration with outpatient care, which ensures safe discharge with good follow-up and treatment even after discharge.

On the ward, we work in two care teams where one nurse, together with two assistant nurses/caregivers, is responsible for half of the patients on the ward. As the leading nurse, you lead the daily nursing work.

At the end of each work shift, we have reflection sessions in the work group. We also have nursing rounds every week and regular supervision for the nursing group.

Your Role

As a specialist nurse, you are responsible, together with other specialist nurses, for leading and developing psychiatric nursing care, both at the patient level and at the unit level. You bring a nursing perspective to the interprofessional team and provide collegial supervision to new colleagues.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for colleagues who are specialist nurses with a focus on psychiatric care and have at least a master's degree in nursing and/or health sciences. Experience and knowledge of leadership at a general level, organization of supervision for students, and experience of quality and development work within psychiatric care are desirable and meritorious.

Your Competence

You are interested in developing in the role of a leader. You are firmly rooted in the profession's code of ethics and do not hesitate to put this into practical action in relation to both patients and employees. You are proud of your profession, have good analytical and reflective abilities, and contribute with your nursing expertise to improve and develop care. You dare to question and criticize.
