Our Operations

The Department of Geriatrics, Rehabilitation Medicine and Pain is characterized by well-functioning multidisciplinary teams, something we are very proud of. Our department has a broad mandate where it is meaningful, exciting, and developing to work. There are good opportunities to participate in development work and research – in our work, we translate new knowledge into care. We dare to try new paths and our driving force is to make a difference for our patients every day. We are constantly working on improvements to find ways of working where the patient is at the center and the competence of all professions is utilized.

Thanks to advances in medicine, care, and lifestyle habits, we are getting older, which places new demands on healthcare. The patients we care for carry a whole life in their backpacks, multiple different diseases, and often a complex health situation. We provide care for multisick, frail elderly primarily with orthopedic, vascular surgical conditions, and patients with acute geriatric conditions. We work in close collaboration with these departments to take care of the patient in the best possible way during both the acute phase and post-operatively. The ward care spans emergency care, pre- and post-operative care, as well as coordination to ensure our patients can go home in the best possible way.

The ward operates a Clinical Education Department (KUA), where students in medical, nursing, pharmaceutical, and physiotherapy programs work with patients in teams. At KUA, clinical education supervisors from each profession work, responsible for the students. This setup offers opportunities for rewarding collaboration. Supervisors are available for support and development in your role as a nurse. KUA means that no day on 30B is like the other, and there are always colleagues, current or future, to discuss and reason with, which contributes to the continuous development of care and nursing, as well as for you in your profession.

Your Role

Ward 30B receives patients primarily from the emergency department, orthopedics, and vascular surgery. We work with the entire care chain, from acute handling, pre-op, post-op, and continued investigation and treatment. Our patients have significant nursing needs that require your full nursing competence. Your task is to lead the nursing care around our patients.

Your Qualifications

We are now looking for a basic or advanced (in relevant areas, surgery, orthopedics, elderly care, district nurse) registered nurse to join our teams.

You adapt easily to changed circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively within set timeframes. You work well with other people, are sensitive, and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner. You have the ability to put yourself in someone else's perspective or situation without taking over the person's feelings.
