Academic Children's Hospital – Small hearts need great care!
We are a small hospital within a large one, and it is precisely in this smallness that our greatness lies. Here, we house all the expertise a sick child might need, along with good collaboration, respect, and care. We offer an excellent introduction for new employees and many interesting opportunities for development. There is also unexpectedly much joy in what is sometimes very difficult. We take care of the children and their families, and we take care of each other – because we know we do a much better job together!
Our Operations
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit provides highly specialized intensive care, intermediate care, and neonatal surgery for the region's smallest and/or sickest newborns.
Your Role
On our neonatal ward, newborns with varying care needs are treated – from relatively stable children who need extra support and monitoring, to very ill children requiring advanced intensive care. The work always focuses on the child and the family.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a registered nurse, specialist nurse, or midwife, and who want a professional challenge by working with neonatal care.
Your Competence
You strive to actively work with the six core competencies for nurses to achieve safe care. We place great emphasis on understanding the work with child- and family-centered care. Since we conduct extensive care development and research, we expect you to stay updated and well-read regarding evidence and research. You need to be stable and controlled in acute situations as our small patients' conditions can change rapidly. We work in teams around the child and the family, thus requiring good collaboration skills.
What We Offer
We offer you a permanent position with rotation between day, evening, night, and weekend shifts in an attractive point model that generates reduced working hours. From autumn, we will work with a competence ladder that clarifies where you are in terms of competence and what you need to work on to move forward in your development. The research conducted here is world-class, and opportunities to contribute to further development arise constantly. Start date by agreement. Extracts from the Swedish Police Authority's record of convictions will be requested prior to appointment.
We have a comprehensive introduction program for all nurses joining us. The introduction is tailored to individual needs, and you always have our team of education coordinators and your closest manager as support. After completing the introduction, you will be assigned a mentor.
At our hospital, you receive benefits that make a difference. Read about the benefits here: Region Uppsala Benefits (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/).
