Your role

As a Development Engineer in Dust Safety, you will become part of the Iron Ore business area and the Environmental staff, a team with high specialist competence and significant responsibility for LKAB's entire dust safety work. The group works both operationally and strategically – from control and follow-up to the long-term development of safety management systems and the implementation of GISTM (Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management).

In the role, you monitor legal requirements, represent LKAB in external contexts such as court proceedings and industry forums, and act as a contact person for operations, universities, and external collaboration partners. You ensure that our operations comply with Mining RIDAS, current regulations, and GISTM.

A role shaped by your competence

Dust safety is a broad area, which is why we tailor the role based on your experience and expertise. Currently, the roles include:

• Development Engineer with strategic responsibility for dust safety development
• RIDAS Responsible
• Dam Safety Expert

We see that we can complement with:

• Development Engineer in Dust Safety with a focus on safety management systems
• Development Engineer with a focus on the implementation of GISTM
• Development Engineer with a focus on dam construction or geotechnics

Regardless of the focus, you will become a central part of a strong and supportive team where your competence will guide how the role is shaped and developed over time.

What you bring with you

You are a secure person with integrity who finds it easy to lead and coordinate both internal and external experts. You are driven by development – both of your own competence and of our facilities – and have a pedagogical ability that allows you to explain complex issues clearly.

Requirements for the position:

• Engineering degree, for example in civil engineering, environmental technology, project planning, or construction and infrastructure
• Knowledge of Mining RIDAS and relevant legislation
• Category B driver's license (required for all positions within LKAB)
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Meritorious:

• Experience from dust safety work, GISTM, or related safety standards
