Luleå is growing. The focus is turning north, and major developments are underway in our municipality. We are now increasing our pace and seeking you who want to play a key role in realizing the construction of the future Luleå. At the Municipal Executive Board Administration, you will become part of a context that values sustainability and takes responsibility for the whole. You will have significant responsibility with good opportunities to influence and see results up close. We are planning for 100,000 residents in Luleå by 2040. For us, this means creating attractive and sustainable environments with today's and tomorrow's Luleå residents in focus. Social development projects are ongoing geographically throughout the municipality and at different scales. Examples of projects that our project managers are responsible for include:

• land development to enable the industry's green transition
• transformation and development of urban neighborhoods for retail, hotels, offices, and housing
• development of new residential areas to provide housing for thousands of new Luleå residents

Luleå is a city where life between the houses is highly valued. We highlight the qualities of different seasons to create variety and new experiences. A significantly increased growth rate places high demands on creating and developing attractive living environments. An important area is therefore urban development and the design of the public realm.

Job Responsibilities

As a Project Manager, you have overall responsibility for development projects and other complex urban planning projects from the initial idea, through the detailed planning process and expansion of public facilities, to land allocation and plot sales, and finally handover to the operations organization. You coordinate several sub-projects running in parallel within the Municipal Executive Board Administration, Infrastructure and Service Administration, and municipal companies. Here you are given the opportunity to develop your creativity, initiative, and sense of responsibility.

Your duties include shaping projects based on political initiatives and steering projects towards established goals, budgets, and schedules. You lead and coordinate project groups with representatives from other administrations, municipal companies, authorities, developers, contractors, consultants, and others. During planning and implementation, you collaborate with, among others, planning architects, land and development engineers, construction project managers, and your steering group.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• academic education with a focus on urban planning, land surveying, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
• experience in leading projects
• knowledge of project economics
• good skills in Swedish, both spoken and written
• valid B driving license

It is meritorious if you have:

• experience from working with urban planning issues
• knowledge of societal planning processes and planning processes within municipalities and/or other authorities
• experience of working in or near a politically governed organization

As a person, you are a natural leader who is confident in yourself and skilled at solving problems. It is important that you are structured and have the ability to organize and plan well, meet deadlines, and complete projects efficiently. With your non-hierarchical attitude and focus on the common goal, you are good at building positive relationships and finding win-win solutions through collaboration.
