As a Project Engineer on the Southern Iron Ore Line (Södra Malmbanan), you will contribute to a safe and stable railway system and the development of future railway maintenance.
ResponsibilitiesOne of Trafikverket's current development initiatives is the establishment of its own development platforms, aimed at creating conditions for increased learning and more efficient maintenance. These platforms have different focus areas, and one of them is dedicated to corrective and preventive maintenance of the Southern Iron Ore Line (SMB). As a Project Engineer, you will assist the Production Manager in all project management tasks, such as:
- Minute-taking and documentation
- Economic administration
- Forecasting
- Follow-up regarding time, cost, quality, safety, working environment, and environment
As a Project Engineer, you are also involved in analyzing and monitoring events in the infrastructure to provide a basis for decisions on measures and orders.
The Production Manager, Project Engineer, maintenance engineers, contracted consultants, and contractors work together to deliver a safe and accessible railway infrastructure that meets society's needs for travel and transport on the SMB.
The position is located in Boden.
QualificationsWho are you?
To succeed in the role of Project Engineer, you have strong problem-solving skills. You solve operational problems without losing sight of long-term strategies, and you perceive and analyze connections in the complex information environment surrounding the railway. You are proactive, able to identify what needs to be done, and act accordingly.
You have good communication skills and convey your message clearly. You are receptive and adapt your communication to the situation. You are confident and have the courage to express your opinions. As a Project Engineer, it is also important to be collaborative, adaptable to achieve common goals, and have an unpretentious attitude to find solutions that benefit all parties.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A university or college degree of at least 180 credits in a relevant field, or other educational background combined with work experience that we assess as equivalent
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
- Very good knowledge of the Office suite, particularly Excel
- A valid driver's license for passenger cars
It is also desirable if you have:
- Experience working with budgets, forecasts, and economic follow-up
- Experience working with railways
