As a Project Engineer Steel, you will play a central role in the execution of NCC's contract for SSAB's new steel plant in Luleå. The role focuses on production control, technical coordination, and monitoring within complex steel plant and industrial projects. We are looking for someone with experience from large industrial investment projects who thrives at the interface between production, design, engineering, and project management. About the role of Project Engineer Steel As a Project Engineer Steel, you work closely with production management, site supervision, and project management, responsible for supporting production throughout the entire execution phase. You ensure that work is carried out according to contracts, technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and NCC's operating systems. The role includes both production-proximity support and technical coordination and monitoring in the project's digital systems. Your main responsibilities include:

• Support to production management in planning, controlling, and monitoring production work
• Coordination between production, design, engineering functions, and project management
• Review and monitoring of construction drawings, BIM models, and technical documents
• Ensuring that production work is performed according to technical specifications, contracts, and project requirements
• Handling deviations, changes, and EOT (Extension of Time) works, as well as analyzing consequences for time, cost, and quality
• Preparation and monitoring of work preparation, risk analyses, and production-related documentation
• Monitoring of quality, environment, and working environment in production activities
• Reporting and monitoring in the project's digital systems
• Contributing to continuous improvements of production processes and working methods

We are looking for you who have a university or civil engineering degree in construction, civil engineering, industrial production, or a corresponding technical area, along with work experience from steel plants, rolling mills, or other process industries. To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

• Several years of experience from large industrial, process, or civil engineering projects
• Documented experience from the construction or reconstruction of steel plant facilities, rolling mill facilities, or similar heavy industry
• Experience in coordinating between production and design in complex industrial projects
• Experience in production planning, project administration, and production monitoring
• Good understanding of steel and concrete structures within industrial construction projects
• Experience in change management, deviation handling, and contract-related issues within industrial EPC projects
• Experience in reviewing and coordinating technical documents and construction basis
• Good understanding of quality, environmental, and working environment requirements in a production environment
• Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written

About NCC Green Industry Transformation NCC Green Industry Transformation is a business area specialized in large and complex projects within tomorrow's green industry. NCC and SSAB have signed an agreement for the construction and civil engineering works for the eastern part of the new fossil-free steel plant on Svartön in Luleå. The project is a central part of the transformation of the Nordic steel industry and will play an important role in Europe's green transition.
