Concert Hall Stockholm is home to one of Europe's leading symphony orchestras, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, and is run by the Stockholm Concert Hall Foundation. The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra is to be one of the most talked-about and respected orchestras in the music world, constantly noted for its high quality and musical curiosity. Concert Hall Stockholm is also visited by many national and international orchestras/groups as well as external concerts and events.

In this role, you will work with chamber concerts, jazz, children's and youth activities, rentals, and support the 105 musicians in the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. As part of the stage technology team, you deliver concerts and events at the highest level.

Main Responsibilities

Together with your colleague, you are responsible for:

  • Working as a stage manager during concerts and events, including operating simpler sound and light systems.
  • Working with and preparing/staging the stage, concert halls, and public areas before productions/events.
  • Responsible for cooperation and planning with internal and external parties. Being an important coordinating force and driving the technical execution of productions, handling offers, and customer contact.
  • Helping musicians, artists, and other guests with podium equipment and questions.
  • Handling instruments and stage technology equipment around the stage.
  • Coordinating the orchestra's material logistics around concerts, rehearsals, and tours.
  • Acting as an evacuation leader for artists/musicians on stage.
  • Being involved in the development of the stage technology department.
  • Participating in department-wide stage technology work, for example: simpler sound and light rigging, backline, and service.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • Relevant education or alternatively experience of working within professional stage arts or event activities.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English.

It is meritorious if you also have:

  • Experience of working in concert activities.
  • Experience of handling instruments.
  • Basic music reading skills.

Personal Qualities

To fit this role, you need to be solution-oriented, have a sense of detail, be empathetic, and enjoy working with music. You are a good logistician and organizer, are used to working independently, and take personal responsibility for your tasks. You like to work with many different tasks in parallel and appreciate that each day brings new challenges.

You need to enjoy providing good service and appreciate many contact surfaces. It is important that you are sensitive to the needs of the artists and customers and maintain calm under pressure.

The duties include practical tasks and some heavy lifting.

Terms of Employment

The position follows the needs of the activity with work in the evenings and on weekends. Travel in connection with tours may be included, both nationally and internationally. You will receive a thorough introduction to the work.

The employment is valid from August 24, 2026, to June 6, 2027. The Concert Hall has a collective agreement with Scen och Film.
