The Social Services Administration consists of 600 employees with a wide range of responsibilities. We are responsible for providing care and welfare, support and services, as well as health and medical care to the municipality's citizens at all stages of life.

A day as a temporary worker in care and welfare

Working in care and welfare is varied and enjoyable. The job involves supporting people in their daily lives. Your tasks may vary depending on which activity you choose to work in and who you help.

As an hourly temporary worker in Krokom, you will be employed in the Staffing Pool. You choose the area and workplaces in consultation with us at the pool, after which we book you for an introduction. Once the introduction is complete and approved, you can be booked for jobs. More information about the introduction and the systems we use will be provided when we invite you to an interview.

The activities we staff include:

Home Care: Föllinge, Offerdal, Nälden, Krokom, Ås, and the Night Patrol

Special Housing: Blomtergården in Krokom, Hällebo in Offerdal, and Solbacka in Föllinge

Support and Services: Group housing, service housing, daily activities, and personal assistance

The most common tasks can be divided into four categories:

• Helping in the home environment: such as cleaning, washing, making beds, shopping, and cooking.
• Personal care: helping with showers and toilet visits, dressing, cutting nails, shaving, or assisting with meals.
• Activities: Your assignment also includes performing various activities for those you help. Some people have planned activities that you ensure they attend, but sometimes it can be your own ideas, such as organizing a celebration, a movie night, or going for a walk.
• Medical tasks: such as checking blood pressure, applying bandages, or administering medication. This is a task you receive only after working for a while and completing certain training.

Your Competence

Requirements

• Class B driver's license to work in home care and certain workplaces in support and services
• You must be at least 18 years old to be employed in the Staffing Pool

Merits for the position

• Auxiliary nurse education
• Class B driver's license
• If you are studying the Health and Social Care program
• Previous experience in a healthcare profession
