We are looking for an analytical and driven Grid Planning Engineer / Electrical Power Engineer who wants to help develop and optimize a changing power grid. With electrification, increased demand, and new requirements for supply security, you will play a central role in ensuring a robust, efficient, and future-proof power grid. In this role, you will work both operationally and strategically, from analyzing today's grid to planning tomorrow's investments. You will contribute technical expertise, lead investigations, and help develop working methods, structures, and long-term strategies.

Your responsibilities
As a Grid Planning Engineer, you are responsible for analyzing, developing, and optimizing the function and performance of the power grid. You will work closely with operations and projects and are an important part of ensuring high supply quality and cost-effective development. We are involved in the early stages of new connections where we conduct grid investigations, prepare and establish technical conditions, and carry out feasibility studies for upcoming investment projects. In these projects, we also act as client representatives. We are also responsible for preparing regulatory reports.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Prepare operational and load analyses

• Optimize switching positions, power flows, and grid losses based on technical and business goals

• Conduct feasibility studies and grid investigations and simulate future impacts on the power grid

• Monitor power quality and analyze measurement data

• Participate in improvement work and develop routines and working methods

• Contribute to the preparation of regulatory reports

• Contribute to the development of long-term investment strategies and annual investment plans

Worth knowing
Today, Grid Development consists of seven employees, two of whom are located in Falköping and five in Dalarna. Within Grid Development, we aim to eventually operate in all power grid areas included in the Nordion Group. Our power grid operations cover the grids in Falbygden and Dala Energi. In Falköping, where this position is located, we have 28 employees, 20 of whom work in the power grid. The office has recently been renovated and offers a modern and very pleasant work environment. The office is excellently located close to the train station. Your manager, Dan, who is the head of Grid Development, is based in Leksand.

Our expectations
We are looking for someone who:

• has experience working within power grids, e.g., grid planning, operations, or analysis

• has relevant education in electrical power

• has a good understanding of the power grid's structure, function, and regulations

• is accustomed to working with analyses, simulations, and technical system support

• speaks fluent Swedish, both orally and in writing
