We are looking for two mechanical designers to join Husqvarna AB in an operational role close to both the product and suppliers. This role suits you if you are self-reliant, proactive, and enjoy getting things done.

About the Role

We are currently seeking two mechanical designers for Husqvarna AB in Jonsered who want to work closely with operations and contribute to concrete improvements in existing products. You will become part of a larger team handling improvements, quality issues, and product-related matters on an ongoing basis. The role is linked to a high-priority program with a significant impact on the business, where the goal is to optimize the products.

You will work in a newly established initiative together with project managers and other functions, jointly driving changes throughout the chain – from design to supplier. The work has an international character with contacts to suppliers and factories globally, and may also involve testing or visits to the operations. The role is operational and may require some hands-on work, with high personal ownership of your tasks and deliveries where you are responsible for turning ideas into finished design changes. The position runs until the end of December with a possible chance for extension thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement design changes
  • Update drawings, BOM, and technical documentation in PLM systems (Teamcenter)
  • Drive changes related to supplier switches, material selection, and manufacturing processes

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Have at least 1 year of experience in mechanical design
  • Have experience with CATIA
  • Have worked in PLM systems, such as Teamcenter or similar
  • Speak and write English fluently

It is an advantage if you have

  • Experience with SolidWorks
  • Experience with cost reduction work or value engineering
  • Experience working closely with suppliers or procurement
  • Experience with Teamcenter
