Are you an adventurous service technician with a mechanical background who loves to travel?

Take the chance to work on exciting projects within hydropower where you can combine your technical skills with varied and social work at the plants.

In this role, you work Monday to Thursday with longer shifts and are then completely free from Friday to Sunday. Projects usually run for 9–12 months, requiring you to be comfortable staying away from home during work weeks. Initially, you will be employed as a consultant via Lernia, with the aim of transitioning to a permanent position at JBM if the collaboration feels right for all parties.

Accommodation is provided by the project owner and usually consists of shared housing in a house or apartment. This role suits you if you enjoy community, flexibility, and working closely with a team.

About the role

As a traveling service technician, you work on projects at hydropower plants. The work is varied and practical, focusing on mechanics, service, and assembly. You work together with colleagues but must also be able to take your own initiatives as you become the face of JBM to the customer. A professional and clear dialogue with the client is therefore important.

Tasks may include:

• Mechanical assembly and disassembly
• Adjustments, repairs, and improvement work
• Sheet metal work and manufacturing/adjustment of simple structures
• Generator replacements and other major component changes
• Preventive maintenance at the plant

About you

Formal competence

We are looking for someone with experience from industry, mechanics, assembly, or other practical technical work. You enjoy working away for most of the week and see the benefits of working intensively Monday–Thursday to then be free Friday–Sunday.

To succeed in this role, you need to be:

• Independent – you can make decisions and take responsibility for your work tasks
• Social and cooperative – you enjoy working closely with a team
• Confident in customer contact – you represent JBM and maintain a good dialogue with the customer

You also need:

• Driver's license B
• Good knowledge of Swedish, spoken and written
• ESA Waterways (Vattenvägar)
• ESA Non-electrical work (Icke elektriska arbeten)

If you lack any of these ESA certifications, there is an opportunity to take the training through us before the project starts.
