Our municipality, and consequently our operations, is growing, and we need more educators. In the education department, we work according to the 'red thread' – a shared vision of development and learning with a democratic foundation in all our activities. In Ånge Municipality, we train all our staff in neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF) to ensure our operations are NPF-secure. We also train all staff in mental training and in what a language and knowledge-developing working method (SKUA) entails. For Ånge Primary School, we are seeking a Science and Mathematics teacher for the autumn term 2026.

Job Responsibilities

Ånge Primary School consists of two buildings but operates as one school: Björken (Pre-school/Grade 1-5) and Ugglan (Grades 6-9). Ånge Primary School currently has approximately 370 students. The principals share a common ambition to lead and distribute work across the schools based on trust and confidence. We have high expectations of ourselves as well as of every employee. Ånge Primary School is organized with teaching teachers, teacher resources, playground teachers, and a student health team. Playground teachers work at the after-school center in the afternoons; during school hours, they serve as safety persons and resources in the classroom. They offer organized break activities during students' recess. The student health team includes counselors, school nurses, special education teachers, career counselors, and principals; we also have access to a school psychologist and a speech therapist. Every week, the student health team participates in student health meetings (EHM) with work teams and student health team meetings (EHT). We collaborate with Social Services, the Child and Youth Center, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP), Rehabilitation Services, the Health Center, the Police, and others. The school is located in the center of Ånge, giving us walking distance to an ice rink, football pitches, athletics track, riding arena, disc golf, outdoor gym, multi-sport arena, gym, illuminated trails, forests, green areas, hiking trails, a bathing spot, library, community center/citizen house with cinema, theater workshop, music school/culture school, town hall, train and bus station, numerous shops, restaurants, and cafes. We have excellent opportunities for collaboration with the business community and associations. We have good commuting options by train from both Östersund and Sundsvall, with walking distance to the school. Your employment will be within the education sector of Ånge Municipality.

Qualifications

We are looking for a certified teacher in Mathematics and Science (MA/NO). You possess a low-affective approach and have a good ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and management. You have a positive and inclusive attitude, placing the student's best interests at the forefront. You have strong problem-solving skills, teamwork abilities, and social competence; you are flexible and loyal. Based on a trust-based management and leadership style, we expect you to take personal responsibility within given frameworks. You advocate for predictability, clarity, safety, and participation. You are convinced that the quality of teaching makes a difference and that teaching must therefore be differentiated so that all students can reach as far as possible in their learning.
