Brottsofferjouren (BOJ) Västmanland is a non-profit, politically and religiously independent association offering advice and support to crime victims, their relatives, and witnesses. The support is free of charge and provided by trained staff. The association employs three people working in support services, court support, and a support center for young people.

We are currently seeking an experienced, reliable, and self-reliant individual who, as needed during the summer and other parts of the year, can work part-time on mapping, analysis, project tasks, and operational support within the organization.

This assignment suits those with a strong interest in legal issues, victim support, and the conditions of civil society. You may be a student, a professional, or a retiree with relevant experience.

About the assignment

You will primarily work on mapping and analyzing a specific part of the organization's activities within the framework of BOJ's agreement with the municipality (IOP). The work is performed independently with support from the coordinator and may also include practical work within the organization as needed.

Responsibilities include, among others:

Mapping and Analysis

  • Describe the background of BOJ's IOP: how long the collaboration has existed and how it has evolved over time.
  • Analyze how the activities function today based on documentation: annual reports, reports, previous mappings, etc.
  • Review Västerås City's guidelines for IOP and identify any deviations or areas for development.
  • Write a cohesive, professional report and prepare an accompanying presentation for the board. (Your ability to write reports is central here.)

Recommendations and Development Work

  • Investigate any government inquiries or legislative changes affecting BOJ's ability to enter into IOP agreements.
  • Identify potential new areas of activity where BOJ can enter into IOP agreements – particularly in areas that strengthen victim protection and support.

Operational and Administrative Tasks

During periods such as summer or high workload, the assignment may also include:

  • Temporarily acting as a coordinator, e.g., handling simpler cases and administration.
  • Applying for grants and working with various financing opportunities.
  • Marketing and information work, such as simple campaigns or material production.
  • Support measures that relieve regular staff.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Relevant education or experience in law, political science, criminology, social work, or equivalent.
  • Documented experience in writing reports, analyses, and compilations.
  • Good ability to interpret legislation and contracts.
  • Experience in compiling large amounts of information in a structured manner.
  • Very good ability to write clearly and correctly in Swedish.
  • Ability to work independently, take own initiatives, and drive tasks forward.
  • Good collaboration skills and a professional approach.

Merits:

  • Experience from a municipality, authority, or non-profit sector.
  • Experience in project management or administrative work.
  • Interest in rights issues, victim support, and the development of civil society.

Students in relevant fields are welcome to apply. Retirees with experience in the field are also warmly welcome to submit their application.

Scope

Part-time as needed.

  • Hourly contract as needed.
  • Work may occur year-round, with the greatest need during the summer.
  • The scope of the assignment varies based on needs, projects, and operational workload.
