The Education Department is responsible for, among other things, preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, upper secondary school, and adapted upper secondary school. Responsibilities also include student health services, mother tongue instruction, school transport, and school meals. We work to create an inspiring learning environment for approximately 10,000 children and students. We have a strong vision of building knowledge and creating dreams.

Within the Education Department, we work to give all children and students the best possible conditions to develop and reach their full potential – from preschool to primary school.

Our operations are characterized by engagement, high goal achievement, and a clear focus on learning and development in a 1–16 year perspective. We work closely together in professional teams where student health services are an important and natural part of the promoting and preventive work.

The school psychology team within the Education Department consists of a total of eight school psychologists who work together to strengthen equity and develop student health work in the municipality's operations.

As a reorganization is currently underway within the school psychology group, we cannot currently specify in which specific area the position will be located.

Responsibilities

Working as a school psychologist involves collaborating with the school's pedagogical staff in the overarching health-promoting and preventive work. As a psychologist, you contribute psychological competence as support in the pedagogical work and in the overall planning of student health services. There is an opportunity to create your own health-promoting and preventive projects, alone or in teams with other student health staff. The work also involves tasks such as investigation, consultation, and supervision, as well as training for school and preschool staff. As a school psychologist, you are also an important part of the preventive work to strengthen students' mental health for increased school attendance and better goal achievement.

The psychologist network meets twice a month for collegial supervision and support, planning of joint health-promoting and preventive projects, and reflecting on and developing the school psychologist's role and tasks.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist. Since the work involves some travel within the municipality, a valid B driver's license is required. It is an advantage if you have access to your own car.

Experience of working as a psychologist within a pedagogical operation such as preschool, school, or upper secondary school is an asset for the position.

To succeed in the role, you need to be able to work both independently and in close collaboration with others. You communicate clearly, well-formulated, and engaged, both in individual conversations and in larger groups. You have the ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, and other contacts you meet in your professional role. You take responsibility and drive your work forward, deliver results, and prioritize your work efficiently. You keep up with current research, continuously maintain your specialist knowledge, and serve as a knowledge resource for others.

Personal qualities such as service orientation, flexibility, integrity, and the ability to build trust are of great importance for the position. With good judgment, you make well-founded assessments, even in complex situations, and act professionally in both advisory and operational contexts. You are curious, proactive, and ready to take on new challenges with energy and engagement.
