Your Role

Naval Digital Platforms within the Naval Digital Solutions area develops digital base platforms that form the foundation for modern naval systems. Our solutions are used in everything from submarines and surface vessels to autonomous vehicles, both above and below the waterline. We are responsible for designing and developing robust, secure, and scalable platforms - from operating systems and infrastructure to integration between software and hardware.

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will become a key person in our infrastructure work. You will help build and further develop a modern IT environment for our naval platforms, where high availability and security are always the top priority. What distinguishes this role from others in cloud infrastructure is the context in which you operate. Our platforms are used in marine environments where connectivity cannot always be taken for granted. This means that you will develop solutions that must function independently, robustly, and securely - even without constant contact with the outside world.

In this role, your main tasks will be:

• Platform Development: Design, build, and maintain IT infrastructure for naval platforms based on OpenStack.
• Infrastructure as Code: Automate provisioning and configuration with tools such as Terraform, Puppet, and others.
• Integration: Integrate existing software components into our IT infrastructure.
• Lifecycle Management: Develop and manage a modern, secure, and flexible IT infrastructure that meets high security requirements and can be adapted to future needs, technologies, and industry standards.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who has a strong interest in cloud platforms and is driven to work in a technically advanced environment. As a person, you are unpretentious, curious, and have a desire to constantly develop. You take responsibility for your work, are self-reliant, and have the ability to plan and drive your tasks forward in a structured manner. The role requires attention to detail, analytical skills, and an understanding of following the regulations and requirements that govern development.

To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

• Deep experience with cloud infrastructure, containerization, and virtualization, preferably within OpenStack.
• Strong competence in automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Good understanding of core infrastructure components such as network, storage, and compute.
• Merits: Experience with SAFe and working in security-classified environments.

The position requires that you undergo and be approved according to current security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
