Job Responsibilities

Do you want to lead and develop IT and Internal Services within Democracy and Citizen Services? As a Unit Manager, you will take on a central role where, together with your colleagues, you contribute to a more efficient and equitable public service. You will drive the unit forward by creating a safe and stable working environment while inspiring and developing your team. The unit currently consists of seven employees and is organized within the Department of Finance and Internal Services.

As the manager of the area, you will have overall responsibility for our IT function, ensuring that our digital workplaces function smoothly and support operations in the best possible way. This includes responsibility for system administration, support, troubleshooting, and active work on information security. You will collaborate closely with the city's central IT functions and monitor service deliveries, while contributing to translating the organization's development needs into sustainable digital solutions.

You are also responsible for our premises and have budget responsibility for premises-related costs. This includes a holistic approach to the administration's premises supply and ensuring that our working environments are functional and support operations effectively.

As a manager, you also have overall responsibility for the reception, including ensuring good service, professional treatment, and well-functioning routines. You are also responsible for the administrative procurement support, which involves leading, coordinating, and quality-assuring ordering processes and administrative support measures to facilitate the organization's work.

The role involves close collaboration with other support managers to jointly develop and streamline support for the entire administration. When needed, you will also participate in the administration's leadership and serve as the presenter in the board.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an academic education in public administration, IT/systems science, economics, or another education in the social science area that the employer deems equivalent.

You have extensive management experience with responsibility for operations, personnel, and finance. Your background also includes experience from a leading role within the public sector and work with development or improvement processes in a complex organization. We also require experience working with IT and digitalization.

It is an advantage if you have worked with premises supply, premises services, or reception, as well as experience with procurement and public procurement according to the Public Procurement Act (LOU) and contract management. Experience from a leading role within support functions in municipal operations and completed management development programs is also considered valuable.

To succeed in the role, we see that you have a good holistic view and analytical ability, are stable and secure in social situations, and have a communicative and responsive leadership style. You are driven and have the ability to influence and engage others with a coaching approach.

Other Information

We offer a workplace with a customer- and service-oriented culture with operations in continuous development. We offer employee benefits such as flexible working hours, wellness contributions, and bicycle benefits. The administration's premises are located centrally in Gothenburg.

We want our administration to be characterized by openness and respect for differences, and we believe that diversity and an even gender distribution contribute to developing our operations.

We plan the first round of interviews during weeks 17-18. Final candidates will undergo a full-day assessment at Gothenburg City's Assessment Center and be evaluated based on the City's management criteria. This is planned for mid-May.

Before a potential interview, you need to present a passport/national ID/personal certificate issued by the Swedish Tax Agency and, if applicable, proof of residence permit if you have citizenship outside the EU/EEA. This is because, as an employer, we need to verify your identity and ensure that you have the right to work in Sweden. During the process, you may also be asked to provide proof of education if this is a requirement for the position.

When applying for a job with us, we want you to use our e-recruitment system for efficient, fast, and secure handling of your application.

Warmly welcome with your application!
