Are you an experienced software architect with a background in system-level development? Then this could be your next job.

You will join an early stage of a larger technical project where the focus is on modernizing an existing, complex system. The role is not about coding yourself, but about analyzing the current state, setting a clear technical direction, and ensuring the solution is sustainable over time.

You will become part of a smaller core team laying the foundation for the entire solution, where your technical decisions together with the client will have a significant impact on how the system is built, developed, and maintained going forward.

The company operates globally with its headquarters in Sweden and contributes to strengthening the defense capabilities of several countries. As a consultant, you will gain experience from industries such as industry, defense, medtech, automotive, and telecom, giving you a broad and stimulating career.

About the role
In this role, you are responsible for analyzing an existing system and defining how it should be developed further in a modern and sustainable direction.

You will:

• analyze the current system and identify what should be kept, changed, or replaced
• develop a target architecture based on given requirements, security aspects, and technical prerequisites
• make decisions regarding technology choices, architecture, and structure
• ensure the solution is scalable, testable, and possible to further develop
• work closely with project managers, developers, and other specialists in a cross-functional team
• act as a technical counterpart to both the client and the development team

The role is analytical and investigative, with a focus on setting direction rather than developing yourself.

We are looking for you who

• have approximately 8–12 years of experience in software development and/or architecture
• have experience making technical decisions and defining architecture in complex systems
• have worked with system-level development, e.g., in C/C++ and/or Java
• have a good understanding of modern development methods such as CI/CD and test automation
• have experience working in early stages where requirements and direction are not fully defined
• are used to analyzing systems and making decisions with regard to long-term maintenance and development
• are fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
