Prolympia Östersund is an independent primary school with a focus on sports and health, located in the Norr district of central Östersund. The school started its operations in 2004 and currently has 466 students and 55 employees. At our school, students receive a secure education with a focus on sports, health, and outdoor life. This means more physical education on the schedule and more outdoor days with overnight stays compared to a traditional school.

About You

Prolympia in Östersund is looking for two teachers in Spanish and possibly another subject. You will teach your subjects and play a central role in the children's learning and development. Being a teacher is an important mission, and to give our students the best possible conditions to develop, we are looking for the right people for our school!

We are looking for someone who has high expectations for students' knowledge and values. You are a driven person with a positive attitude and share our values regarding sports as a tool for good health and good academic results. You have good communication skills, are clear in your leadership, and find collaboration easy. In your daily work, you create trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You work inclusively with a focus on student influence, pedagogical planning, and formative assessment.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include teaching current subjects, including planning and assessment. Teaching in Spanish constitutes 50% of the position. If you have subject eligibility in another area, the position can be filled to full-time with that subject.

As a teacher at Prolympia, you plan your teaching independently but also cross-subject together with colleagues. You document student progress and work with formative assessment. As a teacher, you also contribute to making the daily routine work for the students; pedagogical lunch, recess duty, and homework help may be included. The assignment follows the Swedish National Agency for Education's regulations and general advice. Mentoring a class may be part of the position. You will become part of a team with experienced and driven colleagues.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a teacher education, license, and eligibility to teach up to grade 9 in current subjects. However, you with other suitable competence and experience are also welcome to apply. You should have good IT skills and be accustomed to using digital tools in your daily work.

The position is full-time or part-time depending on your subject eligibility, with a 6-month probationary period. A criminal record extract (regarding work in schools and preschools) less than one year old is required for employment.
