Job Description

At AFRY in Västerås, we are looking for an Electrical Engineer to become a key person in our projects. You will work with automation solutions for industries and other customers, ensuring electrical engineering needs are met from the first idea to the completed facility.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be a central part of our assignments, sometimes throughout the entire project process – from pre-sales support to commissioning – and at other times as a specialist in specific parts of ongoing projects. The work is varied, with both longer assignments providing continuity and shorter engagements in different projects. You will primarily work from our office in Västerås, but assignments may also involve work at the client's site or remotely.

In this role, you are expected to take a leading position and have overall responsibility for electrical design, commissioning, and documentation. You will become an important mentor for our junior colleagues and actively contribute to knowledge sharing within the team. At AFRY, you receive support through our competence forums, where you can exchange experiences with senior engineers and develop your own skills.

Looking ahead, we see that system development will continue to evolve, meaning you will have the opportunity to work with new platforms and environments. The role may also include security-classified assignments in the future.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is results-oriented, focused on achieving goals and maintaining productivity even when challenges arise. You have good problem-solving skills, handle complex situations, and use your experience flexibly. Furthermore, you are proactive, make your own decisions, and act confidently even when everything is not planned in detail.

Requirements

Work Experience:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering within industrial production facilities

Education:

• Relevant formal education in electrical engineering/electrical design/power engineering, or equivalent practical experience

System Knowledge:

• Experience with AutoCAD tools
• Ability to handle and understand customer requirements and documentation systems
• EPC ElMaster

Languages:

• Swedish and English, spoken and written

Merits

Work Experience:

• Experience working in project form
• Experience with automation projects linked to industrial drive systems
• Process experience from manufacturing industry, process industry, and water/wastewater (VA)

Education:

• Engineering degree in electrical engineering/electrical design/power engineering with an industrial focus
