Job Description

At AFRY Advanced Automation in Västerås, we specialize in delivering complete automation solutions for the process and manufacturing industries. We work with everything from PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming to system integration, commissioning, and optimization of complex facilities. Our team combines deep technical expertise with innovative methods to create efficient, safe, and sustainable solutions. With us, you will have the opportunity to work with the latest technology on projects ranging from new turn-key installations to retrofits and advanced commissioning.

A typical work week may vary depending on the project phase. You may work on programming in-house or be on-site at the customer's location to ensure deliveries. Regular alignment meetings with the project group and the team are a natural part of the work to keep you updated on what is happening within our department.

We are looking for someone with several years of experience who takes responsibility for their own work. You are expected to contribute to driving projects forward and identifying opportunities for new customer assignments for our services. In the long term, we see you developing into a more driving role in projects, participating in the preparation of bid documents, and acting as a mentor for younger colleagues in the team.

You will have the support of experienced colleagues in the team, although some assignments may involve working independently. The role may in the future include security-cleared assignments, as several of our customers have such requirements.

Qualifications

In this role, it is important that you are problem-solving and have the ability to analyze complex situations to find effective and sustainable solutions. You are results-oriented and work in a structured manner to achieve set goals, while having a strong drive to deliver with high quality. We also see that you are proactive, take responsibility, and dare to suggest improvements that contribute to the project's success. Finally, you are service-oriented and enjoy building good relationships, both internally and with our customers, always striving to provide the best possible support and service.

Requirements

• Education: Relevant education in automation or equivalent work experience
• Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in industries related to automation such as: Manufacturing industry, Process industry, Water & Wastewater, Energy & Heat
• Language skills: Fluent Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Driver's license (Class B)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience from: Automotive, Pharma Life Science
• Knowledge of various automation systems and software within DCS/PLC/SCADA systems, such as: SIMATIC PCS 7, ABB 800xA, Siemens TIA Portal, S7, AVEVA System Platform
• Experience with older ABB products (AC450, MP200) and system upgrades
