The role of Head of Accounting is primarily an operational position focused on managing and developing the group's accounting function. The Head of Accounting ensures that financial statements, reporting, accounting principles, and financial processes maintain high quality and comply with applicable laws and regulations. A key aspect of the role is to ensure that financial reporting supports the operational decisions made within the group.

Responsibilities

• Lead and allocate work within Snells' finance function.
• Ensure structure, quality, delivery security, and continuous development of accounting work across all group companies.
• Lead the development of systems and models for accounting, financial analysis, control, and governance.
• Be responsible for monthly and annual closing and related reporting.
• Prepare budgets, financial follow-ups, forecasts, summaries, and variance analysis for the company.
• Drive investigations and analyses of varying size and complexity with a focus on the financial perspective.
• Stay informed about current laws and regulations and monitor changes in existing and upcoming legislation.
• Report to the CEO, board of directors, and owners.
• Develop the finance function regarding digitalization, system usage, processes, and routines. We believe a key part of this role is to explore and implement AI opportunities within the company's accounting and financial reporting.
• Manage the finance team, currently consisting of a payroll and finance administrator and an accountant/finance administrator.
• While the role does not involve routine accounting, such tasks may occur within the scope of management responsibilities.
• Be familiar with current agreements relevant to the operations.
• Maintain contact with auditors, tax authorities, insurance companies, tax consultants, etc.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an academic degree in economics and prior experience in a similar role. However, we also welcome candidates with the ambition and engagement to take on such a role, even if their experience is limited.

You have extensive experience and the ability to create structure regarding financial planning, budgeting, and follow-up that supports management, owners, and business operations. You have a natural interest in driving the automation and digitalization of financial processes and are communicative with strong verbal and written expression skills.

Experience in our specific industry is a merit but not a requirement.

You are accustomed to working with various systems; experience in implementing new ERP/business systems is considered an asset. You have a strong interest in the business and how financial analysis can contribute to profitable and successful operations.
