The IT department is part of the executive staff and provides support to the entire Finspång municipal group and elected officials on all IT and technology-related issues. We are now looking for a Network Technician to strengthen our growing team.

The position of Network Technician is located in the IT Department, which is organized under the Executive Staff Sector. The department consists of 18 employees.

Your future tasks

The role of Network Technician, with a focus on the operation and development of the municipality's IT infrastructure, is a varied and challenging role where you will have the opportunity to contribute to our technical development and ensure high user satisfaction for everyone working within the Finspång municipal group.

As a Network Technician, your main task is to manage the municipality's network-based IT infrastructure and all its components.

You will also, when needed, deliver second and third-line user support, collaborating with external support consultants and internal IT specialists in other areas of the IT delivery.

Support case handling is structured in a common case management system for the entire IT operation. You will also have the opportunity to influence the further development of our IT services through participation in supplier meetings, feasibility studies, workshops, procurements, and projects.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who wants to help develop and manage a modern and critical IT environment in Finspång Municipality. You thrive in a role where technology, collaboration, and operational benefits meet. You have post-secondary education in IT, or equivalent experience that we consider comparable. You express yourself well in speech and writing in both Swedish and English.

As a person, you are structured, solution-oriented, and have a good ability to collaborate with both colleagues and operations. You take responsibility for your deliveries and actively contribute to the team's development.

Technical Competence

We are looking for someone with experience in several of the following areas:

• Operation, configuration, and troubleshooting of networks (LAN/WAN/WLAN)
• Management of switches in core, distribution, and access layers
• Data center networks and associated infrastructure
• DNS, DHCP, and firewalls
• Log management and analysis, preferably with knowledge of regular expressions
• Working in larger IT environments with established processes (e.g., ITIL and PM3)

It is an advantage if you have experience of:

• Segmentation, network security, and zero trust principles
• Network automation (e.g., scripting or tool control)
• Monitoring systems and troubleshooting tools

Other

• A Class B driver's license is a requirement
