About the Role
Do you want a meaningful job where you can make a real difference for both society and the energy transition? With us, you are part of a vital operation with exciting projects, cutting-edge technology, and colleagues who value each other.
We are now looking for you to take a key role in shaping the future of maintenance operations as Department Manager for Technology and Control Systems.
We are facing one of Vattenfall Power Distribution's largest initiatives ever – a historic effort to build a stronger, more resilient, and fully independent capability in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. In a time when the external world demands higher levels of robustness and durability, we are taking decisive steps to secure a power grid that withstands difficult conditions and delivers when it is needed most.
Responsibilities and Tasks
As Department Manager for Technology and Control Systems, you are a key figure in this development. You will lead a growing department with approximately 50 employees and two to three experienced managers reporting directly to you. Together, you will build an organization characterized by engagement, security, and pride, where safety is always our guiding star – in a risky environment, we take care of each other and create security together.
This is a mission for you who want to combine strategic leadership with proximity to daily operational activities. In the near future, much will be about building the team – creating structure, direction, and common ways of working that strengthen both capacity and competence. You work solution-focused and drive the development of our processes, ways of working, and practical execution, always with safety and quality in focus.
In the role, you are responsible for, among other things:
- Leading, coaching, and developing your management group and ensuring that the organization has the right capabilities and competence over time, as well as being active in the unit's management group.
- Driving the development of work processes, execution, and ways of working with a focus on improvements, efficiency, and safe operation of our facilities.
- Being responsible for budget, forecasting, and follow-up.
- Ensuring good communication and collaboration both internally and externally.
- Contributing to a high standard in facility maintenance and establishing robust routines for safety and quality.
The role is central to our continued build-up of an independent maintenance capability where you drive development through participation, clear direction, and a strong focus on collaboration.
Requirements Specification
We place great importance on your personal qualities and are looking for you who are a secure, communicative, and development-oriented leader who creates engagement, direction, and collaboration through others. You have experience of leading teams in operationally complex businesses and are used to building ways of working, structure, and culture in organizations that are growing and changing.
We are looking for you who have experience of:
- Driving improvement work and developing ways of working and culture.
- Working structured with planning, budget, and follow-up.
- Creating trust, security, and clarity in change processes.
- Building strong teams and leading through participation.
We expect you to have an academic education and/or several years of experience in a leading position with responsibility for personnel and operations. You communicate fluently in Swedish and English and have a B driver's license as business travel occurs. Leadership experience and the ability to develop both individuals and the business are considered assets.
