Job Description

Randstad Life Sciences is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician for a consultancy assignment with Svensk Kärnbränslehantering (SKB) in Forsmark. The assignment involves working in the water chemistry laboratory (Geology Building) with a focus on hydrological investigations for a planned final repository. The work does not involve contact with radioactive substances.

About the Role

The work mainly consists of routine water analyses in a laboratory environment and some field sampling. The purpose is to monitor hydrology in forests and soil over time. The assignment requires an independent working style and adherence to established manuals and quality systems.

The workplace is located on the Forsmark Peninsula. The position requires on-site presence 5 days a week, but 4 days a week may be discussed.

Scope: Full-time, starting as soon as possible.

Security Clearance: The position is classified, which means a security clearance with a background check will be conducted before starting.

Introduction: New consultants undergo mandatory introductory training on-site to gain access to the lab.

Responsibilities

• Planning, preparation, and execution of chemical analyses.
• Compiling analysis results in management systems.
• Water sampling in the field and water filtration.
• Handling analysis instruments such as ion chromatographs, spectrophotometers, and spectrofluorometers.
• Measurements of pH, conductivity, alkalinity, and iron.

Qualifications

• University degree in chemistry or a technical field, or equivalent work experience.
• Fluent Swedish in speech and writing is a requirement.
• Experience with analytical methods (pH, conductivity, spectrophotometry, etc.).
• Ability to work carefully and follow instructions according to ISO/IEC 17025.
• Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and social collaboration skills.
