School Psychologists for Upper Secondary Schools – Stockholm

Workplace Description
The Education Administration of the City of Stockholm is responsible for municipal primary schools and leisure centers, adapted primary and upper secondary schools, as well as upper secondary schools.
Within the administration, there is the Department for Support around Learning and Student Health, whose task is to assist schools in promoting students' learning, development, and health. The department includes the Student Health Unit.
At the Student Health Unit, representatives of the student health professions work individually and in teams with the following assignments:
- Professional support for student health professions
- Initiatives to develop schools' student health work
- Management of psychologists' and speech therapists' health and medical services
- System support for student health records and student documentation
- An investigation team for psychological assessment prior to admission to adapted schools.
Job Description
Over the course of three years, there will be an expansion of the psychologist initiative at upper secondary schools in the City of Stockholm. The aim is that after these three years, the upper secondary schools will have a good and needs-based access to school psychologists in the interdisciplinary preventive, promoting, and remedial student health work. Currently, there are five psychologists on site. In the final step of the expansion, we are now looking for two more experienced, attentive, and development-oriented psychologists who want to help establish the school psychologist role at the city's upper secondary schools.
You will be employed by the Student Health Unit with your daily work distributed across two or three upper secondary schools. Your assignment at the school is led by the principal and is based on the school's needs and development areas. 10% of working hours are allocated to the Student Health Unit and include development work regarding the role of the psychologist at the upper secondary school, competence development, supervision, and meetings with the coordinating psychologist and the HR manager.
Your Role
Your tasks may include:
- Participation in the school's systematic student health work
- Contributing psychological competence in the pedagogical work at individual, group, and organizational levels
- Contributing knowledge about mental ill health, such as anxiety and depression
- Supportive conversations and assessment interviews with students
- Consultative interventions for parents and educators
- Supervision for educators
- Support to school management in matters concerning organization, groups, resources, and handling of individual student cases
- Contributing psychological knowledge regarding protective and risk factors for health, learning, and development at organizational, group, and individual levels
- Conducting assessments of Intellectual Disability (within adapted upper secondary school)
Your Competence and Experience
Requirements:
- Licensed psychologist
- Experience working as a school psychologist
- Experience and willingness to work in teams
- Interest in organization and development work
- Good ability to collaborate
- Ability to work in a structured manner with a flexible approach
- Good organizational skills
- Supervision experience
- Ability to independently take responsibility for tasks
- Good communicative competence in speech and writing in Swedish
