About us

Welcome to Närhälsan Mariestad Health Centre. We are looking for an initiative-taking colleague who wants to help further develop our operations in diabetes care.

We are part of the Västra Götaland Region's public health centres and have a catchment area of over 14,400 registered patients. We offer both acute and planned care as well as nurse-led clinics. We have good cooperation with the county hospital, Närhälsan's rehabilitation clinic, and the municipality.

About the job

Your tasks at the health centre cover a broad field and include the general medicine area where you meet patients of all ages and in various situations. You work in a health-promoting, advisory, and treating capacity in primary care, both via telephone, home visits, digital care meetings, and at the clinic.

The largest part of the work is located at our diabetes clinic, where you, together with two other nurses, take care of the area's diabetes patients. In your role, you work independently, designing treatment plans, planning, and following up on patients with diabetes.

The other part of the work takes place through both acute and planned activities. Close cooperation takes place with your colleagues in the unit and interprofessionally in the team, with doctors and assistant nurses, among others, but also with other actors such as home care and other specialist care. Together with the health centre management, you are responsible for developing and driving the operations forward. Educating future colleagues is an important and rewarding part of our mission, therefore mentoring students is also included as part of your role at the health centre.

Work at our on-call clinic in the evenings and on weekends may also occur.

About you

You are a licensed nurse. We require that you have supplementary education in diabetes of at least 15 ECTS credits, or alternatively have an interest in completing the education. It is an asset if you have experience working at a health centre. If you are only a nurse but have an interest in training in diabetes, there is an opportunity to do this during working hours in consultation with the unit manager.

We are looking for someone who takes initiative in their work and is confident in making their own decisions. You are meticulous, have good problem-solving skills, and can effectively prioritize among your tasks. Furthermore, we see that you are interested in future challenges within digitalization and operational development.

In your work, you meet many patients, so it is important that you are approachable, attentive, and have a willingness to help others. We also believe that you enjoy teamwork and have a natural ability to collaborate with colleagues and other contacts in your work. You can express yourself well both verbally and in writing, and are an engaged and good listener at both digital meetings and visits at the clinic.

Business travel occurs; a B driver's license is required.

About the recruitment process

Selection takes place in two steps. The first selection is made by recruiters at the HR department who call current candidates for a telephone interview. Subsequently, the hiring manager makes a second selection of the applicants and invites them to an interview at the health centre.

We use competency-based interviews, which means that answers to questions should be based on actual situations. It is important that you describe situations as concretely as possible and try to avoid generalizing answers – this so that we can understand the situation, why you acted as you did, and what the result was.
