Nurse for Region Gävleborg's Medical Advice Service 1177
Region Gävleborg's medical advice service 1177 is part of the Digital Healthcare operational area. Our mission is to offer and ensure high-quality, safe, and accessible advice and referrals for the county's residents. We receive calls via 1177 24/7, 365 days a year, as well as handle certain cases through our digital platform.
Our offices are currently located in Gävle, Bollnäs, and Söderhamn. Here, approximately 40 licensed nurses work to receive, assess, and provide advice on self-care and/or guide callers to the appropriate healthcare provider. Every call is unique, and we work with a strong focus on quality and patient safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Our mission is multifaceted. As a nurse, you will have a varied workday where no moment and no call is the same. With us, you will divide your working hours between telephone, chat, and video calls. Together with experienced colleagues, you will make a difference for many, using well-developed support systems to meet people in the way that best suits their needs. Remote work may be offered.
As an advice nurse with us, you will, among other things:
- Conduct medical assessments
- Provide methodical and structured advice
- Offer self-care advice and refer to appropriate levels of care

QUALIFICATIONS
As a nurse with us, it is crucial that you can handle our conversation process and guide the caller in the right direction. You must be attentive, listen carefully, and help the person further in their matter based on your competence. Different people with various circumstances and states of mind contact us, so it is important that you remain calm, convey security, and maintain a realistic perspective in stressful situations.
We work with many different IT systems that you need to manage. As with all technology, problems may arise, and you should not be afraid to seek solutions. We at 1177 play a significant role in the rest of the healthcare system, so it is important that you keep the bigger picture in mind in your role. How we act sets the tone for people's experience of entering the healthcare system. Therefore, it is crucial that we consider both the whole person and the organization's overall conditions.
In the role of an advice nurse, you must:
- Hold a Swedish nursing license
Previous experience working as a nurse and/or in telephone advice is considered an asset for this position.
