Your role in our team

As a Controller with us, you will play a key role in strengthening financial management in an operation that is central to Umeå's growth and energy transition. You will work closely with both business and operational activities and become an advisory partner to managers who need qualified analyses, forecasts, and decision support in a developing industry and organization.

With a consultative approach, you will help translate numbers into insights, challenge perspectives, and guide the organization in the right direction - always with the goal of creating value for customers, business, and Umeå.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing budgets, forecasts, and ongoing analysis of outcomes

• Challenging and supporting managers in financial matters

• Identifying and monitoring trends, risks, efficiency, and business opportunities

• Developing and improving reporting, KPIs, and financial processes

• Participating in strategic initiatives and investment calculations

• Actively contributing to the development of internal control and data quality

You will be an important part of an engaged team that always puts Umeå first. Your closest colleagues in the finance team work in controlling and accounting.

To succeed and thrive in this role, we believe you have:

• A degree in finance or equivalent

• Several years of experience in qualified controller work such as financial analysis, financial management, and calculations.

• Strong ability to translate numbers into insights and clear messages

• A strong interest in operational work and business development

• Good knowledge of Excel and experience with BI tools such as Power BI

• A humble and curious approach – you enjoy improving and simplifying

• Ease in collaboration and the ability to communicate clearly and simply

• Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing.

It is a plus if you also have:

• Experience with RPA or automation of financial processes

• Experience with Hypergene or similar decision support tools
