Development Leader for Elderly Care with a Focus on Quality

The Elderly Care Staff, Quality Unit
The goal of the Elderly Committee is for individuals to feel independent at home and for us to offer safe and secure care and support.

To achieve these goals, we work based on four strategies: prevention, collaboration, digitalization, and competence supply. These strategies permeate the development work within elderly care to tackle the challenges we face. The Elderly Care Staff consists of secretarial and quality functions. The staff has an overarching responsibility to coordinate the management's work and processes. We carry out the staff's assignments with various areas of expertise in collaboration and cooperation based on a good knowledge of operations with the citizen in focus. The staff is led by a quality manager and a secretary manager, where this role is subordinate to the quality manager along with eight other employees.

We are now looking for a development leader for Elderly Care with a focus on quality!

Your Responsibilities

Your main responsibility is to develop, lead, and follow up on the systematic quality work within the elderly care administration. You do this with a strong focus on collaboration and the desire for our efforts to create value for the elderly in Umeå.

You will, among other things:

  • Be responsible for coordinating the work with the committee's internal control plan and be a presenter in the committee.
  • Coordinate the implementation of an improved structure for the systematic quality work and the newly created quality council.
  • Lead the work with risk analysis and self-control by revising governing documents and practically supporting the operations in how the work should be carried out. This also includes collecting and aggregating data for management-wide forums.
  • Assist with analysis for committee documentation and support the operations in the analysis work related to, for example, deviations, risks, and follow-up.
  • Compile data from national quality registers and internal measurements.
  • Ensure that the management system works by planning and conducting controls in the operations.
  • Compile data and write quality reports and situational reports for both the committee and management.

Collegial collaboration occurs with both the medically responsible nurse and the medically responsible for rehabilitation (MAS/MAR), with the socially responsible coordinator (SAS), and other functions within and outside the unit. Collaboration also takes place with operational managers and key functions in core operations.

About You

You work with a strong focus on quality and have an easy time creating structure, setting the right priorities, and taking initiative. Your analytical ability and solution-oriented approach allow you to confidently handle complex information and quickly familiarize yourself with new issues. You communicate clearly and effectively. With your holistic view, you understand the value of good collaboration and easily build trusting relationships, both internally and externally.

You translate plans into concrete actions, are flexible in changing situations, and quickly adapt to new demands and conditions. You have a good ability to combine a strategic and operational perspective in your work and enjoy switching between these perspectives. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • University or college degree in a field that the employer deems relevant.
  • Experience in systematic quality work, self-control, and follow-up, or equivalent.
  • Experience leading projects or larger improvement work at an overarching level (staff or corporate level).
  • Experience collaborating with multiple functions, actors, or authorities.
  • Good strategic and communicative ability.
  • Fluent in Swedish in both speech and writing, as well as good knowledge of English.
  • Driver's license B.

Desirable for the position:

  • Experience working in a politically governed organization.
