About us

The habilitation unit is a specialized unit based on specific knowledge of permanent disabilities and their consequences in everyday life. We complement other healthcare services. Our mission is to provide habilitative and investigative efforts for children, adolescents, and adults with permanent disabilities such as mobility impairments, multiple disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and autism spectrum disorders.

We work in multiprofessional teams divided into child, youth, and adult teams, and you will also work alongside an experienced pediatric nurse. The team includes occupational therapists, social workers, speech therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists, special educators, and medical secretaries.

The habilitation unit provides services individually and/or in groups, at our clinic or in the patient's everyday environments. Since you will be an important part of our multiprofessional teams, it is essential that you enjoy working with others and believe that the best results are achieved together.

We work from a behavioral medical perspective, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and you will be offered internal training in this.

We meet regularly in regional professional meetings to discuss and collaborate on profession-specific issues with our colleagues in the region. Our operations are continuously improving, and all employees are involved.

Your tasks

In habilitation, you will be part of a multiprofessional team for patients aged 0–18 years. As a nurse, you contribute medical knowledge and have close collaboration with pediatric neurologists and child psychiatrists. Together with the doctors, you manage their waiting lists and are responsible for bookings. Collaboration with the children's clinic is essential as many of our patients are also relevant there.

The nurse's main areas of work lie within nutrition and elimination. You will handle patients with gastrostomy, providing support and advice to families and networks regarding these, as well as managing prescriptions. We also meet many patients with various eating difficulties and provide support and advice on this while monitoring growth. The nurse works closely with a dietitian.

In elimination, we work on independence training for incontinence and RIK/TAI, as well as prescribing assistive devices.

As a nurse, you will spend part of your time staffing the clinic's TeleQ to provide advice and guide patients and parents.

Your competence

We are looking for a licensed nurse, preferably with specialist competence in child and adolescent health. Experience working with children is meritorious, as is knowledge of the habilitation target group. A valid driver's license (B) is required.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and your ability to work together in a team and collaborate with other actors.

Employment form

Permanent employment with start date by agreement. Working hours Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week.
