About Us

Nyköping Hospital is an emergency hospital serving approximately 90,000 residents in the catchment area. The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is part of the anesthesia clinic, which includes around 160 employees and also comprises the recovery unit, operating department, and sterilization center. The ICU is a well-functioning department with a positive staff group that enjoys working together and thrives in their jobs. We prioritize a good working environment and a collaborative climate, both within and outside our operational area. We are looking for you who are a trained specialist nurse in intensive care. We are a general intensive care unit caring for patients from all hospital clinics, including surgery/urology, medicine, orthopedics, psychiatry, gynecology, obstetrics, and pediatrics. We have a high-tech newly renovated ICU with 8 fully equipped intensive care beds. In 2026, the recovery unit will receive new facilities.

We are looking for you who are a nurse and have specialist training in intensive care. Working in the ICU provides you with a broad competence and a large knowledge base. With us, you will receive extensive onboarding when you start in the department so that you feel safe and welcome.

We work person-centered. The resources of the patient and their relatives are requested, and relatives are invited to participate in the care.

Your Responsibilities

Intensive care of patients with varying diagnoses, of all ages. We work in teams with nursing assistants, anesthesiologists, and paramedics. The position includes rotating to the recovery unit and working with pre- and post-operative care of patients who have undergone various types of surgery.

Your Qualifications

You are a licensed nurse with specialist training in intensive care. Personal qualities are highly valued.
