Case Officer in Government Authority

Do you want to work with case management and government authority within an agency that contributes to Sweden's internal and external security? Then you have come to the right place!

You will belong to the unit for personal case management where you are one of nine case officers.

In Karlstad, we are located in new and nice premises with good parking opportunities and about a 13-minute walk to the city center.

Your Responsibilities

You will work with the processing of various types of cases in the assignments the agency has. Government authority towards those subject to total defense duty based on the Total Defense Duty Act is a significant part of the work. The position also includes handling and investigating cases for those who apply for basic military training or seek admission to police training.

The case management is primarily conducted independently, where you make your own assessments and decisions based on these. You should have knowledge of all the different types of cases the unit handles, but you will have one or more areas in which you are more knowledgeable and eventually take on increased responsibility.

You will have close collaboration with your immediate colleagues as well as other functions within and outside the agency, which is why it is important to create good collaborations and to be able to work effectively in a team. Your Qualifications

The tasks require:

• A university degree with a focus on social sciences or administrative knowledge, or another focus that we deem suitable for the position.
• At least a few years of experience working in the public sector with case management and government authority towards individuals.
• Experience with both short, simpler cases and more complicated, investigation-demanding cases.
• Good knowledge of the laws and regulations that govern public activities.
• Experience working in various IT systems.

It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the Total Defense Duty Act.

About the Employment

The employment is permanent and may start with a six-month probationary period.

Due to the nature of the work, you cannot work from home, but we hope that this can instead contribute to a clearer division between work and leisure. You have the opportunity to exercise during work hours and are offered a favorable wellness allowance. We also offer parental leave supplements and up to 35 vacation days depending on age.

The employment is security classified, and we therefore conduct a security review with a background check according to the provisions of the Security Protection Act. In some cases, Swedish citizenship is required.

About Us

At the National Board of Conscription and Assessment, we work to make Sweden safer. Our main task is to enlist, register for basic training, and register personnel in the wartime organization. We also conduct tests and assessments for other authorities, such as the Police and the Swedish Defence University.
