Legal Intern at Värmland District Court
Värmland District Court is a medium-sized court with approximately 60 employees. The jurisdiction covers all 16 municipalities in Värmland County. The operations are based in Karlstad. The court employs judges, legal clerks, interns, court administrators, and administrative staff. The court handles criminal cases, civil cases, and court matters.
Responsibilities
As a legal intern, you will gain insight into the various tasks of the court. The responsibilities largely correspond to those of newly hired interns, such as drafting proposals for decisions, conducting legal research, and taking minutes during court hearings. The internship lasts for 10 weeks starting in the fall of 2026. The court is looking for one or two interns. The internship is unpaid.
Qualifications
You must have completed the sixth semester of the law program. You should have grades in criminal law and procedural law as well as civil law. You must also be enrolled in an internship course equivalent to 15 higher education credits.
Your application should include a CV, a cover letter, and a copy of your latest transcript from the law program. No other experience is required but is considered an advantage.
The application deadline is April 5, 2026. Decisions on who will be awarded the internship will be announced approximately three weeks later.
