Do you want a meaningful and flexible job where you can make a difference for children and students? We are now looking for dedicated substitute teachers who can work as needed in our preschool, after-school care, and kitchen operations.

About us

Väringaskolan is located in Harberget in the picturesque town of Sigtuna. The organization consists of preschool, pre-school class, school, and after-school care with nearly 300 children enrolled.

Väringaskolan is run as a non-profit association and has been in existence since 1991. The principal has been delegated the responsibility for the school's ongoing operations and personnel resources by the association's board.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has good collaboration skills and can create safe relationships.
• Has a strong commitment to working with children and students.
• Is flexible and can work on short notice as needed.
• Has experience in educational work and/or experience in kitchen operations.

Job responsibilities:

Preschool and after-school care

• Be a safe and supportive adult for children and students.
• Collaborate with educators to provide children and students with a safe and developing everyday life.
• Follow routines and approaches according to Väringaskolan's values.

Kitchen operations

• Assist with meal preparations, e.g., preparing salads.
• Serving and dish management.
• As a trained chef, you can also work with cooking.

Currently, there are two chefs and one kitchen assistant working in the kitchen.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children and/or in a kitchen is an advantage but not a requirement.
• Ability to create good relationships and work in a team.
• For work in the kitchen: knowledge of hygiene routines and food handling is a plus.
