Welcome to us
We are now looking for two full-time temporary staff who want to come and work with us in Northern City.
We are in the process of developing SSPF and crime prevention work and are therefore seeking reinforcement. You will be tasked with working as a field assistant as one to two regular employees will be working to implement and coordinate SSPF. One temporary position lasts until the end of the year with the possibility of extension. The other temporary position is until the fall of 2027.
The role of the field assistant involves actively seeking out children and young people in leisure centers, schools, and on the streets. You will work in the youths' environments and create trusting relationships to be an extra adult that young people can talk to, receive help and support from. Trusting relationships are a crucial part of the work as a field assistant since we aim to prevent young people from falling into alcohol and drug dependency, criminality, or getting stuck in other destructive patterns.
The field assistants belong to the area of Preventive Measures for Children, Youth, and Families within the social services department. The area also includes parent advisors, counselors at youth clinics, school social workers, family therapists, and leisure centers/park play areas. The area assignment is to perform early social work focusing on children, youth, and families.

Your role
In your role as a field assistant, you will work proactively and build contacts with youth aged 12-19 both during the day and in the evening. You will work preventively and create a sense of security. You will be proactive by working in schools, on the streets in places where young people gather, and you will also have class assignments on various themes and need to feel comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
You will collaborate with schools, leisure centers, police, social services, and others working with youth within the district and the city as a whole. The assignment also includes leading groups in parent support programs and youth groups for preventive purposes and to promote good mental health. Part of the working hours is scheduled for evenings according to a timetable.
Your qualifications and experience
You need to:
- Be a qualified social worker or have other education that the employer deems equivalent.
- Have relevant experience in outreach work with youth or other social work with youth.
- Have good knowledge of youth issues, risk and protective factors, mental health, socially destructive behavior, drugs, and their various harmful effects.
Meritorious with:
- Experience speaking in front of large groups.
- Previously worked with networking and group activities.
- rePULSE, ACT, MVP, ABC teens, Komet 12-18 years, healthy relationships, MI competence, HBTQIA knowledge.
- Experience in authority work with children and youth.
