Company Description
Vattenfall Hydropower is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and about 300 dams in the Nordic region. We have around 500 employees in Sweden and Finland, with our headquarters located in Luleå. The renewable electricity production from hydropower is a prerequisite for creating a climate-smart and fossil-free society, where we play an important role as enablers for the sustainable energy systems of the future. Our production corresponds to about 25% of Sweden's total electricity needs. To deliver high availability in our production, we must constantly challenge ourselves, develop our working methods, and take advantage of digital opportunities.
About the Role
Do you want to have fun at work while contributing to a fossil-free society? Now you have the opportunity to become a key player with us at Vattenfall Hydropower. As an IT Management Leader in Luleå, you will have a central role in our systems management, focusing on production-related IT/OT. We use a management model inspired by PM3 and ITIL to ensure high quality in our deliveries.
The work is varied and offers great scope for action at a time when hydropower is a crucial part of Sweden's electricity supply. The role entails a clear overall responsibility for ongoing IT management on behalf of system owners. You will lead and coordinate system engineers and IT specialists in the work where you plan, coordinate, and follow up both daily operations and more long-term management plans.
An important part of the assignment is to work closely with the business to gradually develop more structured working methods around change and improvement management. Since our organization is geographically dispersed, we are looking for someone who enjoys teamwork and can inspire engagement remotely. When you travel for work, you will encounter magnificent hydropower facilities and highly knowledgeable colleagues.
You will also collaborate with other management leaders and the central IT function of Hydropower and contribute to developing our work with IT/OT management.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education with a focus on IT (for example, engineer or system scientist) or equivalent competence acquired through work experience.
- Experience in IT management and familiarity with established management models, such as PM3 and/or ITIL.
- Fluent in spoken and written Swedish and English.
- Driver's license B.
Meritorious
- Certification in management or project management.
- Industry experience in the energy sector.
- Knowledge of IT security.
- Experience with vendor contacts and follow-up.
- Knowledge of industrial IT/OT systems.
As a person, you are business-oriented and driven by translating technical improvements into clear business benefits. The role requires strong personal ownership and natural leadership, where you can be demanding and drive change with courage and clarity. You navigate skillfully in complex organizations and thrive in close collaboration with experienced specialists at both company and group levels. Here, you balance your ability to create order and structure with a great sensitivity to the needs of the business. To succeed in this critical operational environment, you are resilient, methodical, and able to maintain focus on the goal.
