HR Generalist for the First Submarine Flotilla
Do you want to work broadly and qualified within HR in a socially important organization that is undergoing significant development? We are now looking for an experienced HR Generalist for the HR section at the First Submarine Flotilla in Karlskrona, part of the Swedish Armed Forces.
This is a role for you who thrives with operational breadth, professional depth, and who wants to contribute to developing HR work in a complex and socially important organization.
The Position Offers
The HR section consists of four employees and an HR manager and is part of the flotilla staff. We are responsible for both strategic and operational HR work in areas such as:
- Work environment
- Competence and personnel supply
- Labor law and contractual issues
- Work adaptation and rehabilitation
- Salary formation
- Gender equality and equal treatment
- Introduction of new employees
As an HR Generalist, you report to the HR manager and work closely with both managers and colleagues throughout the organization.
The organization is characterized by clear structures, high demands for legal security, and close managerial support in everyday life. The role involves great independence combined with collegial collaboration in an experienced HR team.
Main Responsibilities
As an HR Generalist, you work consultatively and operationally with qualified support to managers. You independently drive cases and contribute to developing working methods and routines.
Examples of responsibilities include:
- Support in work adaptation and rehabilitation processes
- Advice on labor law issues based on laws and agreements
- Support in work environment issues
- Training managers in the employer role
- Competence supply and personnel planning
- Planning, coordination, and development of introductory training for new employees
- Contact person for employee surveys
- Work with equal treatment and handling of unwanted behavior
- HR administrative processing and documentation
The role requires you to be able to make independent assessments, make decisions, and act confidently in complex personnel matters.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Academic degree in HR/personnel science or other education/experience deemed equivalent
- Several years of experience in broad and qualified HR work
- Experience in providing consultative support to managers
- Good knowledge of labor law and work environment legislation
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
- Driving license B
Meritorious Competencies

- HR work within government or other public organizations
- Work in larger or complex organizations
- Gender equality and equal treatment work
- Planning and implementation of educational initiatives within HR

The First Submarine Flotilla is on standby around the clock to monitor and protect Sweden's territorial waters, above and below the surface. The submarines also conduct covert intelligence gathering and marine special operations with divers, and they are ready to be deployed on international missions somewhere in the world. The Swedish submarines are highly advanced and can remain submerged for long periods. The submarine force also has the world's most advanced submarine rescue system and an advanced signal intelligence vessel for intelligence gathering.
