Norrbotten Regiment, I19
Norrbotten Regiment, I19, is one of Sweden's largest regiments. I19 is tasked with producing combat units for the Norrbotten Brigade. The brigade's units are specialized in combat in subarctic environments. I19 is the lock in the North.
At I19, the Norrbotten Armored Battalion is responsible for the daily training and production of two armored battalions that are part of the Norrbotten Brigade, with offensive combat in subarctic environments as the primary capability. The battalions include the latest variants of Combat Vehicle 90 and Stridsvagn 122.
FLF FIN (Forward Land Forces Finland)
The Norrbotten Brigade - NmekB 19 is now recruiting soldiers who will primarily focus on operating and serving with a force within the multinational force for FLF Finland. The offer entails employment at NmekB 19 and Boden Garrison, where you can be part of a historic task for the Garrison, the Norrbotten Brigade, the Armed Forces, and Sweden within the framework of NATO.
The current planning direction is that the majority of the force contribution is stationed in Boden and conducts operations within the framework of NmekB 19 and FLF FIN in both Sweden and Finland. The activities will include exercises, training, education, and readiness in both Sweden and Finland.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- Completed basic training with passing grades.
- Possess knowledge and competence for the applied position obtained from basic training or GSS employment.

We are looking for someone who is responsible and a task-focused team player. You should also be stress-resistant and willing to do your best in all situations. We place great importance on your personal qualities.
DESIRABLE
- Driving license B, manual transmission.
Compensation
- The Armed Forces applies individual salary setting.
- The battalion combat group is on continuous readiness for deployment 1-3 days during the readiness period. For readiness, you will be compensated with 5500 SEK/month.
- You are expected to complete about 35-40 Armed Forces days over a six-month period, the majority of which will take place in Finland.
- You will be provided with free accommodation of barracks standard.
- You will be provided with free meals with benefit value.
- Paid travel for induction/deployment with benefit travel.
- On-call allowances are paid to individuals in VB service.
Other
Employment type: GSS/T (group leader, soldier, sailor who serves part-time). This means that you have another primary occupation but will come in and serve when the unit has needs. Within the framework of FLF Finland, there is an opportunity to serve full-time for 6-18 months. For information about your rights to take leave for readiness service in the Armed Forces, see the law (1994:2076) on protection for employment during certain service in total defense, etc.
Probationary employment: The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.

Position: Military
War placement: The employment means that you will be war-placed at I19, at the military unit you are employed at.
Working hours: Primarily daytime 07:30-16:30, but evenings, weekends, readiness, and Armed Forces days may occur.
All candidates for the position must undergo physical tests and security clearance interviews. Test weekends are planned at I19 between weeks 617 and 618. Selection is ongoing, and therefore invitations will be sent close to the test date. No other test opportunities will be offered for this recruitment period.

I19 is one of Sweden's largest regiments with operations in Boden, Kiruna, Tåme, and Grubbnäsudden/Lomben. The main location and leadership for the regiment are in Boden.
The regiment's most important task is to build combat units, and in the coming years, I19 will gradually develop the new Norrbotten Brigade. By 2028, the regiment should be able to train, stockpile, and mobilize the entire brigade, including the associated functional units; command, field works, air defense, and logistics. The brigade should be able to conduct combat in all environments but be specialized for combat in the subarctic environment of the Nordic region.
The regiment also houses the Armed Forces' winter unit, which has the task of coordinating and supporting the development of the Armed Forces' winter capability.
The conscription training is conducted at the Norrbotten Armored Battalion, which is responsible for training and maintaining units for the Norrbotten Brigade. The regiment also consists of the regimental staff, Defense Health, Garrison Support Unit, Logistics Unit, and Local Planning Unit.
