Group Manager at the Poison Information Centre
If you are a pharmacist with leadership potential and a strong interest in people and relationships, this is an opportunity for you! Submit your application and become part of our management team at the Poison Information Centre.
Our Operations
The Poison Information Centre (GIC) is a government healthcare provider under the authority of the Medical Products Agency and serves as Sweden's national expert unit for acute poisonings. We provide knowledge and advice regarding acute poisonings. We are a relatively small organization with about 45 employees, including seven doctors, two administrators, and the remaining pharmacists. Our operations are characterized by strong teamwork and the shared goal of preventing and treating acute poisonings.
Your Responsibilities
As a group manager at GIC, you will share responsibility for the pharmacist group with two other managers. The management group collaborates very closely and makes many decisions together. Each manager has 10-13 direct reports.
The group managers play a central role in leading and distributing work within the pharmacist group and contributing to creating a positive and efficient work environment. You will be part of the management team, which consists of an operations manager, a medically responsible manager, a medical manager, and your two group manager colleagues.
All managers at GIC participate in the regular on-call work, which means you will work day, evening, night, and weekend shifts according to a schedule. This gives you the opportunity to be close to the operations and have a deeper understanding of the challenges our employees face in their daily work.
Internal management training is frequently offered through the Medical Products Agency.
Your Background
It is a requirement that you are a licensed pharmacist and you must have documented experience working at a Poison Information Centre. You should already be able to work independently in telephone advice at the time of employment.
Your Personal Qualities
To succeed in this role, you need to possess qualities such as kindness, clarity, courage, communication skills, and the ability to see the big picture. As a manager, you should be decisive but also receptive and flexible. You have a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to stick to the task even in periods of change and pressure. When challenges arise, you contribute calmness, focus, and professionalism.
You need to have the capacity to see employees' needs alongside the organization's needs and be fair in the distribution of responsibilities, benefits, and demands. We offer a dynamic and supportive work environment where you can develop both professionally and personally. Therefore, we want you to have a strong desire to learn and grow in your role as a leader. The focus for group managers is to create the best possible workplace for employees.
We will place great emphasis on personal suitability and also consider how the management team can best be complemented.
